Give Local

Give Local makes supporting your favorite local causes accessible and EASY! Give your time, treasure, or talent to an organization working to better our community.

1. Give a Donation

Donors can give online by visiting www.givelocalsc.org, searching for an organization(s) to support, and donating via credit/debit card – almost like online shopping! Donors can give to up to 10 organizations at once using the “add to basket” feature. If you aren’t sure of an organization, you can also filter options by cause(s) you care about and find organizations that work in those fields.

Donors can give by check, as well. Checks must:

• be made out directly to the organization that you’d like to support, NOT to the Arras Foundation
• include “Give Local” in the memo line
• and be dated on or around November 15th of the given year
• checks can be dropped off directly to the Arras Foundation office or directly to the receiving nonprofit
• Be sure that Foundation staff or your nonprofit-of-choice have your check/cash donation in hand ON or BEFORE Give Local Day so it can be counted toward any matching awards*!

*Check donations are verified for eligibility for Arras Foundation match awards or other awards based on the above requirements, so please be sure to include them!

2. Give your Time or Talent

Supporters can visit www.givelocalsc.org to find volunteer opportunities in our area. Nonprofit organizations list their available volunteer opportunities on their individual profiles.

Registered 501(c)3 nonprofits in good standing that are headquartered in or serve the residents of Lancaster County and/or Chester County, South Carolina are *eligible to participate in the Give Local campaign. Nonprofit registration opens a few months before Give Local Day (November 15th or the Friday before, if it falls on a weekend).

Nonprofits must attend at least one Give Local training session before Give Local Day in order to participate, regardless of historic participation.

Give Local would not be possible without generous award pledges from business supporters. Here is a PDF of the 5 ways businesses can support Give Local. Open business pledges are awarded throughout the day to participating nonprofits that meet certain criteria. Once a nonprofit winner is determined, Arras Foundation staff connect the business and the winning nonprofit directly for award transmission.

Business sponsors are highlighted throughout the campaign at speaking engagements, through advertising and promotion, and are featured on the Give Local website.
