Arras Foundation trustees applauded the final totals for the organization’s eighth annual Give Local campaign at their annual meeting Dec. 12.
A total of $598,501, the highest amount of any Give Local campaign, was raised by 84 nonprofit organizations. Between Nov. 15 and Nov. 28 this year, 2,081 donors made 2,930 charitable contributions.
A testament to the community’s generosity, the amount raised during Give Local has steadily increased every year since the campaign began in 2016, and this year is no exception.
“We are so proud of Give Local’s consistent growth year after year,” said Susan DeVenny, president and CEO of the Arras Foundation.
“Thanks to our community members, local businesses and civic partners, this year’s campaign posted an incredible 25% increase over last year’s unprecedented total. It’s amazing to see our friends and neighbors supporting one another so generously.”
Since its inception, Give Local has raised $2.2 million for over 100 local nonprofit organizations.
The 2023 Give Local campaign included a 24-hour giving blitz on National Philanthropy Day (Nov. 15) and concluded on Giving Tuesday (Nov. 28).
The five organizations that topped the Give Local 2023 leaderboard include Lancaster County Society for Historical Preservation, raising $34,380; GRASP, raising $33,605; Women’s Enrichment Center, raising $30,479; HOPE in Lancaster, raising $29,312; and the Lindsay Pettus Greenway, raising $21,455.
The five organizations that had the highest number of individual Give Local 2023 donors were Lancaster SPCA with 192; GRASP with 138; HOPE in Lancaster with 104; Seth’s Giving Tree with 103; and Lancaster County Council of the Arts with 90.
“The excitement that is generated by Give Local really pushes our local supporters to help us reach matching goals,” said Lindy Morris, executive director of Girls on the Run Tri-County. “The opportunity to be a part of something bigger than our own individual campaign is very positive. We love seeing all the organizations succeed.”
Give Local organizations support a wide array of causes in the region and worked diligently during Give Local to raise money for their missions, using innovative partnerships, strategically timed donations and taking advantage of incentives from local businesses and civic organizations to match donor gifts.
Business awards have been a feature of Give Local since it started. Nine businesses and organizations have supported Give Local every year since its inception in 2016. They include First Citizens Bank, Builders Supply Co., Comporium Communications, Folks & DeVenny, Nibrol, Perception Builders, Thompson & Davis CPAs, the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce and the Chester County Chamber of Commerce.
A total of 24 local businesses and civic organizations supported Give Local 2023 in the form of sponsored awards and/or donor gifts. Give Local would not be possible without the support of these businesses, as well as the overwhelming generosity of our friends and neighbors. The Arras Foundation thanks you for making this year the best campaign yet!
