The Arras Foundation’s eighth annual Give Local campaign raised over $440,000 during the 24-hour giving day blitz last Wednesday, Nov. 15.

A testament to the community’s generosity, the Give Local initiative has officially raised over $2 million since it began in 2016.

The 2023 campaign continues until Nov. 28, or Giving Tuesday, and the total number of donations are likely to increase, especially since the Arras Foundation will be matching all donations up to $1,000 that day.

“Give Local allows all of us to focus on the needs of our community and the causes that matter most,” said Lisa Bridges, chair of the Arras Foundation Board of Trustees. “The generosity of our residents is astounding and a joy to see each year.”

As of Monday evening, 1,725 individuals have given 2,460 donations to bring Give Local 2023’s current total to $475,671. Check www.GiveLocalSC.org to see the campaign’s total continue to rise. These donors supported all 84 participating nonprofit organizations that serve both Lancaster and Chester counties.

The five organizations that topped Give Local’s amount raised after the Nov. 15 event are: Lancaster County Society for Historical Preservation, GRASP, HOPE in Lancaster, Women’s Enrichment Center and Lindsay Pettus Greenway.

The five organizations who had the highest number of unique donors after the Nov. 15 event are: Lancaster SPCA with 143, GRASP with 123, Seth’s Giving Tree with 90, HOPE in Lancaster with 85, and Lancaster County Council of the Arts with 78.

These organizations support a wide array of causes in the region and worked strategically during Give Local to raise money for their missions, using partnerships, strategically timed donations and incentives from generous local businesses and civic organizations.
