Catawba Connect: COVID-19 Relief Fund
Catawba Connect: COVID-19 Relief Fund for Chester and Lancaster County, SC is designed to complement the ongoing work of public entities and to expand capacity in these counties to address impact from the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.
This fund will allow interested citizens and businesses to make donations for immediate, critical needs, crisis relief, and recovery. The Fund is administered through a partnership between the United Way of Chester County, the United Way of Lancaster County, and the Arras Foundation.
Catawba Connect Needs Assessment Summary 2021
In the summer of 2021, 18 months after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Catawba Connect partners reached out across our communities to ask “How are you doing?” More than 600 people who live, work, play, and pray in Chester and Lancaster counties responded. The responses provide a glimpse into the challenges and triumphs of COVID-19 recovery, an ongoing and difficult process.

Of the respondents, 54.4% work full time, 13.2% work part time, 8.8% are full time students, and 22.7% are retired.

The Hope Index indicates that a large majority of responders are feeling hopeful about the future of our community. Most of the responses were a 4 on a scale of 1 to 5, one being not at all hopeful and five being very hopeful.
Catawba Connect Snapshot
The Catawba Connect: COVID-19 Relief Fund was created on March 20, 2020 in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Distribution of the first round of Catawba Connect funds occurred in June 2020; the second round of funds distribution occurred in August 2020.
