LANCASTER, S.C. — The 2024 Give Local campaign was its best yet, raising $721,753 for 92 nonprofit organizations. This year, 2,224 donors made 3,218 charitable contributions between Nov. 15 and Dec. 3.

Since its inception, Give Local, spearheaded by the Arras Foundation, has raised over $3 million for over 100 local nonprofit organizations.

A testament to our community’s generosity, the amount raised during Give Local has steadily increased every year since the campaign began in 2016, and this year is no exception.

Arras Foundation trustees reviewed the final totals for the organization’s ninth annual Give Local campaign at their annual meeting Dec. 10.

“We are so proud and grateful to be part of a community that values the work of nonprofits that make our community a better place to live for everyone. Give Local 2024 was an incredibly successful campaign because our community cares deeply about their neighbors,” said Lisa Bridges, chair of the Arras Foundation Board of Trustees. “There is such power when we join together to support the causes most important to us.”

This year’s Give Local campaign included a 24-hour giving blitz on National Philanthropy Day (Nov. 15) and concluded on Giving Tuesday (Dec. 3).

The five organizations who topped the Give Local 2024 leaderboard are: Lancaster County Society for Historical Preservation, raising $45,770; HOPE in Lancaster, raising $31,098; GRASP, raising $29,490; Seth’s Giving Tree, raising $27,408; and the Women’s Enrichment Center, raising $27,026.

The five organizations that had the highest number of individual Give Local 2024 donors are: Lancaster SPCA with 194; GRASP with 135; Seth’s Giving Tree with 125; HOPE in Lancaster with 110; and Sheltered with 107.

“It is always a great experience to participate in Give Local,” said Genni Tiffany, president of the Community Playhouse of Lancaster County. “I’m amazed every year by the generosity of people wanting to better their community in so many ways.”

Give Local organizations support a wide array of causes in our region and each worked diligently during Give Local to raise money for their mission, using innovative partnerships, strategically timed donations, and taking advantage of incentives from local businesses and civic organizations to match donor gifts.

Business awards have been a staple feature of Give Local since 2016. Local businesses provide incentive awards for nonprofit organizations to compete for throughout the day on Nov. 15.

Eight businesses and organizations have supported Give Local every year since its inception. They include First Citizens Bank, Builders Supply Co., Comporium, Folks & DeVenny LLC, Perception Builders, Thompson & Davis CPAs, the Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce and the Chester County Chamber of Commerce.

Over 25 local businesses and faith or civic organizations supported Give Local 2024 in the form of sponsored awards and/or direct donor gifts. Give Local would not be possible without the support of these businesses, as well as the overwhelming generosity of our friends and neighbors. The Arras Foundation hanks you for making this year the best campaign yet!
